RAYMOND FORD Obituary

Raymond J. Ford "Jiggs" Age 85 of Hockessin, DE passed away September 5, 2005 at home from complications of Parkinson's disease.

Jiggs was a graduate of Goldey College and retired in 1969 from Allied Chemical Company after 30 years of service as a cost accountant. He then was store manager of Pierson's Liquors in Hockessin until 1985. He was an avid sports fan, and also enjoyed gardening, history, and being with his family.

In addition to his parents, Jiggs was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Anne Ford; sister, Marcella Johnson; and brothers, Harry F. and Robert P. Ford. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sarah Ford; 2 sons, John C. and Robert J., both of Hockessin; and 3 daughters, Linda J. Workman and Judy K. Lathrop, both of Hockessin, and Rebecca J. Blacka of Keyser, WV. He is also survived by a brother, Norman of Oxford, PA; sister, Esther Graham of Newark; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grand-children.

Jiggs' family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for their loving care during his illness.

Burial will be private at St. Patrick Cemetery, Ashland DE and at the convenience of the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, PO Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
